Here, the monitoring of the test is done using live remote proctors and artificial intelligence technology by ProctorU. It is available worldwide, in all the countries where TOEFL iBT testing is normally available, except Mainland China and Iran.

The TOEFL Essentials Test

Newly launched TOEFL Essentials test measures the test takers’ English proficiency in a variety of environments, beyond just academics. It is designed by the assessment experts at ETS and evaluated by both certified trained humans and AI tools, ensuring validity and accuracy. The test is comparatively shorter than TOEFL iBT and is of 90 minutes, comprising 4 core English language skill sections – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.
